Climate, price, community and atmosphere vary greatly from coast to coast. For most buyers, one region clearly fits better than the rest. Find yours.
Costa del Sol. From Marbella to Nerja: 320 days of sunshine, a large international community, and everything from affordable to exclusive along one stretch of coast.
Costa Cálida. The Mar Menor, La Manga and Mazarrón: the mildest winters on the Spanish mainland, a Spanish feel and prices below the Costa Blanca.
Costa Blanca South. Torrevieja, Orihuela Costa and Alicante: a lot of home for your money, miles of beach and the largest international community in Spain.
Costa Blanca North. Jávea, Moraira and Altea: bays, capes and whitewashed villages, greener than the south and with a well-established international community.
Costa de Valencia. Spain's third city with the beach a bike ride away, and around it a coastline from Oliva to Castellón that most buyers have yet to discover.
Costa Dorada. Salou, Cambrils and Roman Tarragona: wide, shallow sandy beaches and sharp prices, one day's drive from home.
Costa Brava. Pebble coves beneath pine forests, medieval villages and the canals of Empuriabrava: Spain's most beautiful coastline, one day's drive from home.
The climate varies more than you think. The south is warmer and drier, the north greener with real seasons. Between the Costa Cálida and the Costa Brava there can easily be five degrees of difference in winter.
The community isn't everywhere. On one coast there is already a large international community, with schools, clubs and family doctors. On another you are one of the few. Both can be pleasant, it is a choice.
Price levels vary widely. For the same budget you buy a spacious apartment in Torrevieja and a studio in Marbella. Where you look determines what you get.
Lifestyle leads. Cosmopolitan and international, quiet and Spanish, or urban with culture. The atmosphere of a region determines whether you still feel at home there in five years.
Accessibility counts in the long run. How often will you travel back and forth? A direct three-hour flight feels different from a journey with a connection, and a full day of driving is an advantage for some and a drawback for others. We work it through with you.
