Where it is and how you get there
Fuente Álamo lies inland in Murcia, between Cartagena and the city of Murcia. It is open, gently rolling farmland; the Mediterranean and the Mar Menor are each around half an hour away by car. Corvera airport is close, a drive of roughly a quarter of an hour, which makes the town attractive to anyone flying back and forth often. The motorway to Cartagena runs past the municipality.
What kind of place it is, and who it suits
The town itself is a Spanish village living off agriculture, with little tourism. International living is concentrated in the golf resorts within the municipality, which sit as separate communities some distance from the village. Those who buy here usually choose the interior deliberately: more land for the same money, quiet, and the coast as a day trip rather than a view. Summers are hotter here than by the sea, because the sea breeze reaches less far.
What you will find there
The village has supermarkets, a health centre, pharmacies and schools, and there is a weekly market. For a hospital and a wider range of shops you drive to Cartagena or to the city of Murcia, both within half an hour. The golf resorts in the municipality have their own course, clubhouse and restaurants, and sometimes a small shop for daily needs. International schools lie towards the Mar Menor and Cartagena. The short distance to Corvera airport is the deciding argument for many buyers here.
